It has been almost four years since I have last posted. To put it bluntly I grew weary of documenting the similarities between Hitler’s rise to power in 1933 (boosted by Nazi persistence and propaganda) and Trump’s rise (boosted by Russia using more modern propaganda tools). I wasted a lot of the energy I had left on Facebook trying, often in vain, to show anyone who would listen how bad Trumpism is. I am abandoning that effort. I can no longer stand idly by while people deny our election system based solely on the lies told by a President who is at best mentally ill and at worst intrinsically evil.
So I will try again to be thoughtful. I do not know who my audience will be. It will likely be small. I have never once tried to monetize this blog (indeed I don’t even know how it is done). This is me, documenting my thought journey. My guiding principle will be critical thought, not ideology. My focus will be on history not prognostication. I am no friend to any party, including Democrats. The closest I have come to support for an individual is Bernie Sanders and he disappointed me greatly by running as a Democratic Socialist instead of simply as a friend of the people.
So the slate is clean. Biden will take office in 6 days. Let the discussion begin.
